RESOURCE. CONNECT. EMPOWER.

MAFRAC stood up to address the food crisis triggered by the pandemic in March 2020 and continues to resource, connect, and empower farmers, producers, and food organizations -- our stakeholders -- throughout the region.

$1 Million + Awarded

MAFRAC has awarded more than $1 million in local food grans to more than 100 stakeholders through our community driven grant process that engaged more than 60 stakeholders in award decisions since May 2020.

68+Tons Fresh Produce & Other Foods Re-Distributed

Since 2020, MAFRAC has worked closely with our stakeholders to source and help distribute more than 68 tons of excess food within the Mid-Atlantic Area. Our listserv goes out to hundreds of stakeholders who claim and pick up excess foods within hours and sometimes minutes.

Over 275 Stakeholders

Our network of stakeholders include Farmers; Non-Profits & Faith/Community-Based Stakeholders, Daycare Centers; Emergency Shelters; Food Pantries; Food Hubs; Soup Kitchens; Senior Programs; and other School Partners from across the MidAtlantic. We join together every Friday on a stakeholder call to answer the questions: “What do you have, and what do you need?”

Stakeholder & Volunteer Spotlight

Hi Food Assistance Providers!

We're reaching out with a request. The FEC is trying to get a better understanding of cold storage and transportation capacity among county-based food assistance providers. We have developed a short survey below to learn more about what you have and what you need related to cold storage. Thank you!
